REFLECTING TEACHING

Reflective teaching means looking at what you do in the classroom, thinking about why you do it, and thinking about if it works - a process of self-observation and self-evaluation. By collecting information about what goes on in our classroom, and by analyzing and evaluating this information, we identify and explore our own practices and underlying beliefs. This may then lead to changes and improvements in our teaching. In my personal experience, I have faced many difficulties such as when students do not want to participate or when there are annoying leaders in the classroom. At the beginning I was worry about it, but after I studied ´´reflective teaching´´, things changed for me. I reflected on what I was doing, the way I was doing it, and so on. After doing this, I could realize that the topics I was presenting to my students, and the materials I was using were not appealing for them. So I modified all these things, and I have had good results. Now my students pay more attention, and like what they are learning. About the videos, I like the comment one teacher said. She said that she would like to have her own English classroom because she could have more advantages in teaching the language. I totaly agree with her.

DEL-II CLASSES

Now My classmates and I have studied an important topic which is "Toward reflecting teaching." It is imporatant since in the classroom, you as a teacher may face many difficulties in which if you are a good teacher have to solve by following some steps. Here is when reflecting teaching takes place. Teachers have to reflect, for example, why a certain student is behaving in certain way, how the teacher can help him/her to solve that problem. On the other hand, the teacher can also reflect on what he/she is doing, if everything is going well or not. To do so, the teacher must follow some steps or techniques such as recollecting information, writing a journal, writing an autobiography, etc. It has been a really important topic.

DIDACTICS II EXPERIENCES

Since I started this semester, I have been having fun because classes are very nice. Every class, every classmate of mine has been performing an activity(WARM-UP, SHORT PRESENTATION) that has been very fun. The good point is that we have learnt some important things. In my case, I have learnt the importance that warm-ups, time-fillers, and ice-breakkers have in the classroom.Also, the importance of having a good lesson plan and how to create it. On the other hand, I feel somewhat nervous because I will start my teaching practices next week. This week is for observation. I hope everything will be okay!

"Front of the class"

After watching the movie "The front of the class," I can say that what makes Brad's teaching great is the creativity, the enthusiasm, and the control he has in the classroom. Besides his teaching, Brad teaches his pupils values such as tolerance, respect, perseverance, and also he teaches them how to enjoy being youself. It is interesting how Brad overcame the bullying and teasing he always experimented because of  his handicap.The perseverance and the positivism Brad shows in the movie has struck me, also the way his mother is always supporting him. This movie has given me a valuable lesson which is that you have to fight come what may to make your dreams come true.So I aspire to become a good techer who will just help his pupils to become excellents students.

TVYL

TVYL is a hard work, but at the same time, it is a funny work. It is hard because you have to create a lot of materials every time you teach a class. You have to think a lot in order to create activities for your pupils to learn easily and effectively. In other words, you have to be creative, patient, and you have to love what you do.

My classmates and I shared a lot of information about TVYL through nice presentations that have been of great importance in our teaching practice. These presentations have helped me to better understand my pupils’ behavior and also how to have an effective learning in my classroom. I have learnt the importance of having a positive atmosphere in the classroom so that the students feel comfortable and learn more effectively. My classmates, through presentations, have given me some ideas to make my teaching funny and effectively, for example, the using of puppets, making pair and group work, having English corner, etc.

In summa, I have learnt that I have to create a rapport and that I have to include, not to exclude. And I think I won’t forget what teacher Edgar has told us about children: “Children learn by doing, and that they are the most important thing in the classroom.”
